Chobani’s Category Development Managers work with category, consumer and shopper insights data to create a clear direction for the category that aligns customer and Chobani strategies. As a key member of the sales team, this role contributes to driving company sales and profits and to gaining advantage over competitors by driving strategic insights and valuable tools/programs to drive increased performance for designated brands at retail.


  • Role will be part of the National Accounts team playing a key role in cultivating business relationships and providing analytical support for Kroger
  • Provide strategic and tactical recommendations that improve overall category performance
  • Use key tools to develop content for customer specific presentations that include relevant consumer insights, analysis of the competitive landscape, and new item/category selling resources
  • Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize issues and opportunities, elevating analyses beyond reporting and translating insights into retail action
  • Leverage data from multiple sources to create impactful selling stories that identify risks, opportunities, and performance gaps (i.e. distribution, assortment mix, incrementality, size, shelving, placement)
  • Focus on continuing to improve tools, templates, and process to enable the team to enhance efficiency in performing their job requirements
  • Provide ongoing trend analysis (business performance and drivers) to seize value-creating opportunities that improve overall category performance or to correct category issues as needed
  • Provides input into customer planning cycle based on knowledge of category and shopper trends, competitive issues, etc.
  • Develops strong working relationships with retailer’s Category Management team
  • Actively contribute to the post promotion analysis process to review and improve the return on investment and effectiveness of trade promotions
  • Track category and brand performance and make recommendations on value-creating opportunities using insights gleamed from business reports
  • Provide necessary summaries and important trend updates to key internal collaborators
  • Perform other duties as necessary


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3-5 years consumer packaged goods category management experience
  • High level of proficiency in working directly with headquarters level customers
  • Strong and validated leadership skills
  • Strong cross-functional exposure / experience
  • Highly customer focused with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Highly organized with the ability to lead multiple projects against deadlines
  • Proficient with reporting systems such as 84.51 Stratum, Market6, Circana IRI, and Nielsen; Blue Yonder/JDA strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
  • Willingness to travel

Compensation Range: $92,800.00 - $139,200.00, plus bonus.
