Summary
The selected candidate will provide overall site leadership for the environmental programs at the location including, but not limited to; Stormwater Management, SPDES Permit compliance, waste management and hauling, Hazardous Waste Disposal, Zero Waste to Landfill Initiative, potable water, Tier II reports, RMP for onsite Ammonia, air permit registration, Toxic Release Inventory reports, Greenhouse Gas Emission validation, FCC radio licenses, Department of Agriculture feed license, cooling tower registrations and sampling, wetland delineation, Bulk Petroleum and Bulk Chemical Storage Certifications and others. This role directly interfaces with all levels of the organization and is key to ensuring the site meets or exceeds expected results and performance metrics. This role will report directly to the VP of EHS with a strong dotted line to the Site SVP of Operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide the experience and knowledge needed to develop programs, policies and procedures to build a sustainable Environmental Compliance Culture
- Ensure all environmental permit renewals, reports and submissions are completed on time and correctly
- Provide direction, coaching and collaborate with site supervisors, managers, and directors on how to manage and obtain desired results within the environmental programs
- Remain up to date on applicable County, State and Federal environmental regulations to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with engineering and other departments on new projects or repair work to ensure environmental requirements are met
- Collaborate with site leadership to develop, track and manage key performance indicators both lagging and leading that help drive results
- Provide guidance and ensure each environmental incident is reported and investigated properly
- Collaborate with other Chobani locations to ensure consistent application of standards and best practices
- Assist in and help coordinate use of capital funds designated to reduce risk and increase compliance efforts at the site
- Manage and oversee site environmental training program to ensure County, State and Federal compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 6-8 years’ of environmental experience with emphasis on supporting a manufacturing environment preferred
- Bachelors or master’s degree in Environmental Management, or a related field
- Leadership skills to direct and grow the safety performance at the site through others
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft based software. (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc)
- Ability to work flexible hours to provide support and guidance to the plant across all shifts and work schedules
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate results and opportunities

Compensation Range: $78,400.00 - $117,600.00, plus bonus.
