Join Chobani's mission of "making good food for all" as a Quality Intern working directly with our Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement initiatives, quality assurance programs, and food safety excellence at our South Edmeston, NY facility.
During this hands-on internship you will gain valuable experience in food manufacturing quality systems and will collaborate cross-functionally to contribute to meaningful projects that impact product quality and consumer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Quality Improvement Projects
- Work on assigned quality-focused continuous improvement projects
- Assist with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) documentation
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S activities
- Help develop and update quality procedures and work instructions
- Participate in Kaizen events and process optimization projects
Non-Conformance & Investigation Support
- Support the Quality Engineer with NCR documentation and tracking
- Assist in root cause analysis investigations using tools like 5-Why's and Fishbone diagrams
- Help coordinate cross-functional teams for CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) meetings
- Participate in consumer complaint investigations and data analysis
- Support supplier quality assessment projects
Quality Data Collection & Analysis
- Assist with daily quality data collection from production lines for yogurt products
- Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring and trend analysis
- Help maintain quality databases and generate routine quality reports
- Participate in product testing and sensory evaluations
- Document quality metrics and assist with data visualization projects
Quality System Support
- Assist with quality management system maintenance and documentation
- Support internal quality audits and inspection preparation
- Help train production operators on quality procedures and standards
- Participate in calibration programs for quality testing equipment
- Support new product development quality assessments
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, or related field, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2028
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Coursework in statistics, quality control, or process improvement and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout manufacturing facility\
- Comfortable working in food manufacturing environment (temperature variations, noise, GMP and PPE requirements, safety equipment, etc.)
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
