Summary

The Maintenance Automation Technician is responsible for assessing mechanical, technical, and electrical problems in all areas of the facility.  This position requires a highly motivated, self-directed multi crafted worker that can work autonomously in a fast-paced production environment. The individual will provide the highest level of in-house support. Further, this position will require people who are highly successful at working as part of a team. It will be necessary for them to partner with internal and external resources to be successful. Must follow established safety and GMP’s and environmental standards. Adhere to all plant technical standards and company compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations. FDA, EPA, and SQF Certifications.

Responsibilities

•    Troubleshoot, Maintain, repair, and modify highly automated production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, Ladder Logic, and Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic systems in a fast-paced production environment.
•    Identify problem root cause by observing mechanical systems and devices in operation, listening for problems and using precision measuring and electrical testing instrumentation and other troubleshooting methods
•    Provide maintenance break/fix support for automation related issues, and work with Automation Technicians/Engineers on equipment repair and improvements
•    Ability to troubleshoot and re-wire high speed and/or highly automated equipment such as AC motors, VFDs, PLCs, servo motors, and PLC I/O modules.
•    Utilize SAP to document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed throughout the course of the day, including searching and issuing parts, documenting equipment issues and entering inspection/measurement points accurately and thoroughly.
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
•    Serve as a high-level technical support resource for complex mechanical, automation and electrical issues.
•    Redline all Automation related programs and documentation including PLC programs, HMI programs, electrical drawings, P&IDs, pin charts, functional analyses, sequence of operations, etc.
•    Assist with other plant or department members in developing and championing programs and projects as required
•    Continually seek out best practices and share with the organization
•    Share of general knowledge within facility and organizational peer groups
•    Follow Chobani safety and GMP procedures and practices

Requirements

•    3-5 years of electrical, PLC and instrumentation experience working in an industrial facility
•    Associates degree, Technical School Certificate or Military training in one of the following disciplines: Electrical or Electronics Systems, Industrial Controls or Manufacturing Systems/Mechanical Systems preferred
•    Knowledge of PLC systems troubleshooting, and programming specifically focused on Allen Bradley PLC
•    General knowledge of HMI systems focused on Rockwell Factory Talk View ME/SE or Inductive Automation Ignition
•    Broad knowledge of automation and electrical devices and equipment
•    Intermediate knowledge of personal computers and windows operating systems
•    Ability to use electrical diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams
•    Ability to effectively cooperate with personnel of different backgrounds and skill level
•    Ability to train and transfer knowledge to others
•    Strong ability to create and maintain relevant documentation
•    Strong ability to manage multiple tasks given time constraints and ensure tasks are executed completely

Compensation Range: $33.50 - $48.00, plus bonus.
