Chobani is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our Headquarter Category team as an Assistant Category Development Manager. This role is based in New York City or Plano, Texas and requires 4 days in the office.   

In the HQ Assistant Category Development Manager role, you will manage internal reporting, analyze market data, consumer trends, and collaborate with Senior Category Development Manager, HQ on key internal deliverables. This position will be responsible for overseeing category performance and innovation for Chobani, as well as critical aspects of our Category Operations (NielsenIQ, other vendors, etc.). 

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of analytical rigor, compelling storytelling, operational acumen, and industry knowledge to accelerate category performance in a highly competitive CPG landscape. 

Responsibilities

  • Role will be part of the HQ (national) category team reporting to the Senior Category Development Manager, HQ providing category support and thought leadership for internal partners  
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating internal reporting, with a focus on continuing to improve value-added tools, templates, and processes to enable the team to maximize efficiency 
  • Utilize market data, retailer shopper card data, and consumer insights to analyze category and brand performance, identify trends, and uncover growth opportunities 
  • Develop strong working relationships with broader Commercial Growth team and other internal partners 
  • Assist in the development of category strategies aligned with company objectives, including assortment optimization and merchandising guidelines 
  • Monitor competitive activity, identifying gaps and recommending actions to maintain category leadership 
  • Ensure accurate product categorization and coding in NielsenIQ (or similar syndicated data platforms), by regularly auditing custom and syndicated databases to maintain the integrity of data and reporting. 
  • Perform other duties as necessary 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • 3+ years of consumer packaged goods experience with at least 2+ years of category management or analytical experience 
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into clear, compelling stories that drive action. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and dynamic environment 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects against deadlines 
  • Proficient with syndicated data sources including NielsenIQ, Circana, 84.51, Scintilla, as well as planogram software including Blue Yonder/JDA 
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies 
  • Willingness to travel on occasion

The salary range for this full-time position is $74,500.00 - $117,700.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
