Senior Art Director
Date: Dec 19, 2025
Location: New York, NY
Company: Chobani
Summary
The Senior Art Director will shape and steward the creative vision for Chobani’s 360° Soccer and Sports Marketing work—driving both high-level concept development and disciplined design-system expression. This role sits at the intersection of big-idea thinking and applied craft, ensuring that our brand shows up authentically, consistently, and with cultural relevance across every touchpoint: Packaging, Retail/Shopper, Sampling, Events & Activations, Social/Digital, Content, Partnerships, and Communications.
A core part of this role is collaborating with and supporting our creative agencies—helping develop, extend, and implement the creative platforms while maintaining brand integrity. This person will challenge partners (internal and external) to elevate the work, explore new mediums, and push creative territories forward while ensuring all executions remain rooted in Chobani’s values and visual language.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on maker and a conceptual storyteller—someone who can inspire big ideas and also translate them into scalable, repeatable design systems.
Experience in the sports/soccer space—whether with leagues, teams, agencies, athletes, or major sports properties—is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Co-lead concept development with the Creative Director, extending and expanding creative territories in fresh, culturally relevant ways across new touchpoints and mediums.
- Collaborate with and support the lead creative agency, helping translate their conceptual direction into applied systems, brand assets, toolkits, and cross-channel executions.
- Ensure visual discipline and brand authenticity across all 360° deliverables while encouraging creative stretch and innovation.
- Own design execution for retail displays, toolkits, event branding, murals, production design, content, and fast-turn XFT needs.
- Provide on-set art direction, ensuring production aligns with the creative intent and elevates the brand’s presence.
- Challenge all partners—internal teams, agency collaborators, production vendors—to uphold excellence, consistency, and cultural credibility.
- Present and articulate creative thinking to cross-functional stakeholders with clarity, rationale, and solution-oriented approaches.
- Build deep cross-functional relationships with shopper, brand, partnerships, packaging, sampling, and social teams as well as external creative, experiential, and production partners.
- Stay fluent in evolving social and sports culture, applying insights into concepting, design, and channel behavior.
- Advocate for necessary tools, templates, and resources to scale the work as ambition and scope grow.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of design and art direction experience at a creative agency or in-house studio, ideally within sports, culture, or brand storytelling environments.
- A portfolio demonstrating both conceptual range and systematic design craft—campaign ideas, design systems, and real-world executions.
- Experience collaborating with agencies and implementing a master creative direction across channels and formats.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire creative talent; fosters a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Strong understanding of digital, social, experiential, PR, OOH, retail/shopper, and emerging sports media platforms.
- Confident, efficient decision-maker with a calm, solutions-driven approach in high-velocity environments.
