The Director of Commercial Strategy & Planning for La Colombe will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of the Ready-to-Drink Coffee (RTD) business. This leader will support effective decision-making by providing insights, intelligence, and actionable recommendations that impact the marketplace. They will serve as a strategic partner to the Brand Sales team in planning, forecasting, go-to-market initiatives, and long-term growth strategy. They will also play a key role in the day-to-day commercial processes with Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), La Colombe’s distribution partner. This role reports directly to the Vice President of La Colombe Commercial Strategy & Development and works in close partnership with the Vice President of Brand Sales.

 

Responsibilities

Sales Planning:

  • Leads the planning and the development of the go-to-market strategy and facilitates the consolidation of the La Colombe customer forecasting process
  • Partner with brand sales, execution, and marketing teams, as well as the KDP Commercial team, to produce actionable go-to-market strategies across the LC Ready-To-Drink (RTD) business
  • Develop clear, concise, fact-based strategies for La Colombe with focus on 4p assessment to optimize performance
  • Track industry, customer, category and competitive trends, and recommend solutions (via fact-based selling presentations) to build competitive advantage, add customer value
  • Consolidate and optimize forecasts in partnership with Brand Sales to identify opportunities and close performance gaps
  • Lead AOP planning across commercial team to meet growth ambitions of business

Strategy & Analysis

  • Identify, prioritize, and lead critical strategic initiatives that align with the La Colombe business objectives, driving both short-term success and long-range growth
  • Shape, steward, and build the multi-year strategic roadmap for the Ready-to-Drink business, including growth by channel, customer, and product line
  • Use thought leadership to scope and size the Ready-to-Drink coffee business
  • Monitor & develop multi-year mix management & promotional strategies to deliver company financial goals

Customer & Distributor Success 

  • Support the La Colombe sales team to cultivate customer success
  • Guide customer-level strategy using actionable reporting on performance, pricing, distribution, and promotional effectiveness
  • Ensure commercial collaboration between La Colombe and Go-to-Market Partner through weekly meetings, Joint business planning, and National Sales Meeting
  • Support joint business planning and major commercial moments with retailers and KDP teams

Commercialization Excellence 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive brand, partnership, and product strategies with internal and external partners
  • Lead the commercialization planning process, ensuring alignment on priorities, channel strategies, and execution expectations of the La Colombe Can business
  • Partner with internal functions such as Commercialization, NPD, Commercial Finance, and Marketing to implement channel and product strategies
  • Serve as the “Voice of Customer” liaison between La Colombe and KDP to guide innovation and portfolio decisions
  • Ensure optimal RTD assortment and must-carry priorities across channels and key customers

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7+ years of CPG experience in strategy, planning, commercialization, or related functions
  • Strong commercial acumen with understanding of sales, marketing, product economics, and supply chain
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and navigate complex, cross-functional environments
  • Advanced analytical capability and strong storytelling skills to translate data into strategic action
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience in sales planning, DSD, commercialization, financial planning, or related field preferred
  • Experience in Power BI, Tableau, or a similar data visualization software preferred
  • Experience in JDA and SAP forecasting & reporting tools preferred

The salary range for this full-time position is $140,000.00 - $260,000.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
