The Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and procedures to analyze financial information; prepare accurate and timely financial reports and trial balances; ensure appropriate accounting control procedures; and assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements. 


  • Prepare and review journal entries as part of the month end close process
  • Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet accounts as part of the month end close process to ensure financial results of operations are accurately represented and in conformance with US GAAP
  • Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets, and expenditures
  • Assist with external audits
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting packages
  • Validate work product is accurate
  • Ensure all accounting processes including general ledger, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and revenue recognition are in compliance with GAAP
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems and continuously strive to automate manual processes
  • Support the Assistant Corporate Controller and Treasurer with special projects and workflow process improvements


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 2 – 4 years of experience, some public accounting experience, preferred
  • Knowledge of ERP Systems required (SAP preferred)
  • Analytical skills including the ability to analyze complex technical accounting requirements including US GAAP and statutory requirement
  • Ability to reach conclusions independently analyzing alternatives
  • Strong writing skills in support of analytical commentary
  • Strong communication skills, must be able to express ideas effectively in individual and group situations
  • Prepares journal entries, maintains, and reconciles general ledger and sub-ledger accounts
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience in CPG- manufacturing environment preferred
