Summary
Chobani is seeking a motivated and experienced Director of Dairy Sustainability to lead and develop our on-farm dairy sustainability program. This role is integral to our company-wide carbon reduction strategy and sustainability program. The individual will be responsible for assessing Chobani’s current farm and cooperative network and creating a comprehensive program that emphasizes carbon and methane reduction while addressing nutrient and soil health, animal welfare, farmer livelihoods, biodiversity, water conservation, and other critical factors. The role will partner with procurement to adapt our sourcing strategy over periods of time.
Responsibilities
Program Development:
- Develop and support the implementation of Chobani’s on-farm dairy sustainability and regenerative agriculture program, prioritizing carbon and methane reduction.
- Work with Chobani’s dairy supply chain to create a program that considers: GHG reduction, nutrient management, soil health, water conservation, animal welfare, and biodiversity.
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of Chobani’s current farm and cooperative network to identify opportunities and gaps in sustainability practices, and propose recommended approaches.
Assessment and Analysis:
- Propose tools/resources/partners to enable Chobani to analyze data related to carbon emissions, methane production, soil health, and other relevant metrics to inform program development.
- Oversee the implementation of this measurement and verification system and work within the Sustainability team to integrate results of the Dairy Sustainability Program into company carbon reporting, sustainability reporting, and goal progress tracking.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with Procurement, Quality, R&D, and other relevant functions to ensure alignment with broader company goals and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with farmers and cooperatives to support and promote the adoption of sustainable and regenerative practices.
- Provide guidance, training, and resources to farmers to enhance their sustainability efforts and improve overall farm performance.
Innovation and Best Practices:
- Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in dairy sustainability and regenerative agriculture.
- Identify and evaluate new approaches and technologies that could benefit Chobani’s sustainability program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, Sustainability, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in agricultural sustainability, regenerative agriculture, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing programs and working with farmers
- Strong understanding of dairy farming practices, carbon and methane reduction strategies, and regenerative agriculture principles
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to develop and execute complex programs and initiatives
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and performance metrics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 35%
- Experience in the dairy industry or working directly with dairy farms and cooperatives preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory and industry standards related to dairy sustainability and environmental impact preferred
- Proficiency with sustainability reporting tools and data management systems preferred

Compensation Range: $140,000.00 - $210,000.00, plus bonus.
