Summary

The Director of Accounts Payable Operations oversees end-to-end P2P (procure-to-pay) workflows, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing, payment execution, and vendor management. This strategic role leads AP teams, drives technological and transformational process improvements, maintains robust financial misstatement and anti-fraud controls, and reports to senior finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Manage and develop a mid-to-large sized AP team, setting clear performance benchmarks, objectives and key results, and operational goals.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and streamline AP policies, operating models, and workflows to support organizational growth, transformation, and efficiencies.
  • Financial Controls: Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal audit and SOX requirements, and corporate disbursement policies.
  • Vendor Relations: Act as the primary escalation point for operational concerns, supplier disputes, and cross-functional payment issues.
  • Systems Integration: Partner with IT and Finance to leverage ERP software (e.g., Success Factors and SAP) to automate invoice ingestion, matching, and disbursements.

Requirements

  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in accounts payable, with 5+ years in senior management or director-level capacity.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Skills: Expert knowledge of complex financial policies, modern e-payment environments, and ERP implementations.

The salary range for this full-time position is $140,000.00 - $220,000.00, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
