Summary

The Junior Accountant is responsible for applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles ("GAAP") and procedures to analyze financial information; prepare accurate and timely financial reports and trial balances; ensure appropriate accounting control procedures; and assist in the preparation of our consolidated financial statements. 
 

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:
•    Assist with the preparation of certain external regulatory filings and reporting
•    Reviews and verifies the accuracy of account coding
•    Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger and sub-ledger accounts
•    Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements which would include income and balance sheets used for internal and external reporting purposes
•    Respond to financial inquiries; provide requested information for use in effective management of the business and/or meeting external reporting needs
•    Provide and effectively communicate financial information for internal and external audit
•    Validate work product is accurate
•    Provide feedback, including sharing best practices, to team members
•    Participate on cross-functional teams as required 
 

Requirements

The requirements of this position include:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
•    Newly graduated to 2 years of experience in Accounting required
•    Analytical and organizational skills needed with ability to perform required analysis quickly and accurately under tight deadlines, communicate requirements effectively, and produce detailed and accurate presentations 
•    Strong experience using Excel
•    Ability to work independently, well organized, self-motivated in a fast paced environment
•    Consumer package goods industry experience a plus
•    Experience in a CPG manufacturing environment a plus
•    Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) a plus
•    Excellent organizational ability
•    Problem solving
•    Effective communication

Compensation Range: $68,000.00 - $103,000.00, plus bonus.
