Summary
This Senior Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring a timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processes. This individual will partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimization of automation, timely resolution and tracking of issues (via SNOW tickets), and continuous process improvement with the end goal of “zero defect” payroll. This role will also create Payroll Processing metrics and a continuous feedback process.
Responsibilities
- Lead the standardization, simplification, and automation of all payroll processes – including Finance related items
- Maintain internal controls and documentation to ensure SOX compliance
- Oversee top tier case management and resolution of payroll related tickets. Collaborate with team members, leadership, and/or employees to achieve timely resolutions
- Implement regular reporting regarding efficiency, accuracy and employee service metrics
- Create ad-hoc reports and conducts required system audits using ADP and Kronos system information
- Monitor payroll production errors and proactively identify process improvement methods
- Provide metrics to quantitatively track and report out on performance improvements
- Represent payroll function in cross functional projects and department communication, particularly those related to time and attendance
- Manage system development activities and participate as needed in system testing activities
- Provide direction, training, and coaching to payroll team and People team where appropriate
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education/experience required
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years Payroll experience within a complex, high volume, multi-state payroll system required
- 2-4 years’ experience with ADP payroll/timekeeping system required. Kronos Dimensions experience a plus
- Thorough knowledge of HR processes including new hire, rate changes and benefit items related to a payroll function
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance related payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, tax and benefits, multi-state taxation rules, wage and hour laws, etc.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing and continuously optimizing payroll processes and internal controls
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of direct managerial experience required
- Proven ability to maintain accuracy and timeliness of all payroll related functions
- Experience working with internal and external business partners to conduct or support audit and other cross-functional activities
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with broad communications verbally and written – to leaders, employees, managers and organizational announcements
- Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively present complex information in a manner the audience can absorb the information
- Ability to calculate complex figures

Compensation Range: $104,000.00 - $156,000.00, plus bonus.
