Summary

This job description is to outline the role, responsibilities, general tasks and functions of the HTST Lead on what they do in their daily operations. As an HTST Lead you will work with 2 HTST Operators and report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that safety on the floor is number one priority through example and accountability
  • Participate and recommend solutions to all safety issues and common quality issues
  • Manage HTST area and inform production supervisor of occurring problems
  • Ensure that your area is always kept in clean conditions
  • Take action to continuously improve their process targets
  • Acquire knowledge on the importance of legal pasteurization and be able to explain this to each employee
  • Closely monitor that HTST system to ensure legal pasteurization
  • Make sure that all seals are properly in place before running the equipment
  • All documentation needs to be filled out accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure that all the operators in the area understand the importance of this
  • Ensure that cut in and cut out validations are done properly (temperatures marked and clearly recorded)
  • Follow the production schedule that is provided and notify supervisor if you see a problem
  • Ensure that Sanitation cleaning sheets are filled out and turned in daily
  • Closely monitor all CIP tanks in your area
  • Build a CIP schedule to ensure all equipment, tanks, and lines are being washed in a timely manner
  • Capable of sterilizing as well as making sure cream totes are sterilized before being introduced to product
  • Works closely with management when running trials. Review that all charts and documentation are accurate at the end of shift
  • Must be proficient in the flow of the HTST and walk production supervisor through it
  • Knowledge of how to disassemble and assemble HTST
  • Be able to do a plate exchange swap
  • Master the HMI system
  • Must be proficient in knowing the HTST flow (milk and cream)

Requirements

  • Prior leadership experience
  • Prior HTST experience
  • Understand and implement GMP’s
  • Familiar with HACCAP and understanding our critical control point
  • Basic math skills
  • Great communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Great leadership skills
  • Stand and walk for the duration of 12 hours, work in a load environment, wear PPE, bend, kneel, lift 75 lbs

Compensation Range: $26.75 - $36.25, plus bonus.
