Responsibilities
- Lead everything involved in filler production, sanitation, machinery, and staffing in the filler & packaging room
- Act as a machine expert and assist the production supervisors in carrying out all filler and packaging tasks as assigned
- Help ensure safety and quality during production
- Work closely with the filler operators and help give direction. Leads report to the filler supervisor and receive their daily tasks from them as well
- At transition meeting pass on critical communication to your team and set the game plan
- Spend 90% of your day on the production floor making rounds to all the lines. Ensure all paperwork is filled out completely and correctly and verify all information and materials for production runs is available and accurate
- Correcting and communicating any quality issue with a filler line with QA and with the filler room supervisor
- The production lead should have a sounds knowledge of all aspects of the fillers & packaging equipment, from the operation and sanitation of equipment to the mechanical aspects of the machine
- Ensure that operators have received all necessary training in all aspects of their job. Also, verify that all SOP’s and OPL’s are signed off by operators and adhered to
- Production leads are heavily involved in coordinating with maintenance on repairs on their lines and involved in line PM’s
- Ensure proper sanitation of the production filling & packaging equipment according to the standard work, minimizing equipment downtime for cleaning tasks while maintaining the highest food safety, people safety, and quality standards
Requirements
- Production experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of filler and packaging equipment
- Forklift experience and/or ability to be trained and certified
- Time and people management
- Quality focused and diligent
- Use and application of GMP’s, sanitation chemicals and equipment
- Work well with others and delegate daily tasks
- Strong self-motivation
- Be able to lift 75 lbs, stand and walk for 12 hours, work in a loud environment, and wear PPE

Compensation Range: $27.75 - $37.25, plus bonus.
