MRO Purchasing Specialist - Days

MRO Purchasing Specialist role will provide support to the Maintenance and other Chobani teams to source and procure MRO tools, parts and services.


  • The Work directly with OEM suppliers and distributors to source items as needed
  • Obtain quotes and research purchasing options to obtain the best cost, quality and value
  • Manage and maintain vendor relationships, and evaluate suppliers
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Parts teams to meet operational needs
  • Prepare Purchase Order requisitions and ensure order confirmations are received
  • Source and procure emergency parts as needed
  • Maintain accurate ETA dates in SAP system
  • Develop and recommend best practices for the parts flow process and procedures
  • Develop and implement processes with suppliers to improve processes and reduce parts overages/shortages
  • Maintain electronic files for all orders and packing slips
  • Work with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues
  • Resolve supplier packing slip discrepancies
  • Coordinate procurement processes to ensure accurate inventory transactions
  • Provide information and communication to Technicians regarding parts and part ordering processes
  • Analyze inventory and MRO spend
  • Other duties and projects as assigned


  • High school degree or GED required, college degree preferred
  • Preferred experience with SAP
  • Minimum 2 years of inventory or purchasing experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain priorities in order to complete assignments by deadlines without detailed instructions
  • Average proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with positive, customer-orientation combined with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, deadline driven and extremely rapidly changing environment
