Summary
The Maintenance Technician Lead directs the hourly maintenance crew activities in support of all plant production maintenance to include processing systems, filling and packaging operations, automation and utilities support equipment. Work closely with production shift managers, supervisors and area leads to develop/maintain a strong partnership to ensure effective and efficient operations of all production plant equipment. This role has a responsibility for ensuring both food safety and quality of Chobani product.
Responsibilities
- Direct the completion of work regarding processing systems, filling and packaging equipment, automation activities and utilities systems
- Provide guidance to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges
- Work with Maintenance staff on various repairs as needed
- Manage the preventive maintenance program for the shift ensuring assignments are properly completed, audited and improvement suggestions are implemented
- Use Chobani’s computer maintenance management system to track and complete work orders
- Assign Technicians to jobs in order to efficiently meet maintenance demands and minimize downtime
- Work with Supervisor to identify and attend courses to improve personal management skills
- Support weekly schedule to ensure adequate coverage for the required work and operations, monitor daily work and provide updates as required
- Build an empowered work environment
- Provide input to management for performance reviews and knowledge development
- Encourage team members, including communicating team goals, training and identifying areas for new training or skill checks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style to create an engaged, motivated and hard-working team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications and EAM systems. Able to proficiently use Microsoft systems to communicate data in a clear and effective manner
- Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing procedures and practices, and champions upholding them
Requirements
- High school Diploma, GED
- Two-year Technical Trade school certification, military applicable certifications, vocational training, Journeyman License preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in a food production / manufacturing environment operating, repairing and/or troubleshooting issues on filling, packaging and other processing equipment. Previous dairy, food and beverage industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of safety & lock out tag out programs
- Experience with basic hand & power tools
- Knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance procedures
- Mechanical competence and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams
- Excellent written, verbal and listening skills
- Weekend work or overtime may be required
- Climb ladders, work at heights, work overhead, work in confined spaces and work in very hot and very cool environments
- Lift, push or pull up to 60 pounds

Compensation Range: $33.50 - $48.00, plus bonus.
