Summary
The Procurement Manager- Dairy, will lead all procurement activities related to the strategic sourcing of dairy materials and selling the by-products including cream for Twin Falls, ID production facility. This role is responsible for evaluating raw material requirements, performs RFP processes, evaluates/analyzes proposals, negotiates agreements as well as addressing supply and quality issues. This role will be on-site full-time with some limited travel required.
Responsibilities
- Balancing and settling all raw milk with our suppliers including creating POs in SAP, approving raw milk invoices, and balancing and settling weights for cream with our buyers.
- Direct the flow of milk and cream to and from facilities while cancelling or altering schedules as supply and demand change based on production and forecasts.
- Communicate and respond to daily supply and demand changes as necessary with the assistance of suppliers, manufacturing locations and internal procurement employees.
- Responsible for the routing and delivery of all cream and bulk dairy commodities supplied to the Twin Falls production facility,
- Execute cream and bulk dairy supply optimization strategies on a weekly basis.
- Continuously monitor and manage the bulk dairy markets for spot buying, selling or substitution opportunities while optimizing the supply portfolio from a company-wide perspective.
- Monitor dairy markets to identify and implement cost savings/spot market buying opportunities within the total supply chain of commodities and ingredients.
- Develop new supply sources and raw material substitutions with the assistance of R&D and QA utilizing the Strategic Sourcing Process.
- Support R&D with any dairy products needed for trials, innovation, and other needs.
- Build relationships with milk Co-Ops, dairy farms. Support Idaho Dairyman Association (IDA) and Idaho Milk Processors Association (IMPA) as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Finance, or other related degree required.
- 7+ years’ experience in a Procurement Management role or Diverse Supply Chain Management role. With at least 5 years of that in a dairy related procurement position.
- Proven knowledge of dairy market pricing models and industry dynamics
- Involvement in the dairy industry trade association required.
- Experience in Dairy Commodity Hedging preferred.
- A Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) designation is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation strategies and tactics.
- Knowledge of SAP, SAP SRM or similar ERP system required.
- Technical skills in computing and using standard software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet)
- Limited travel required, including travel to dairy farms and attendance at various dairy conferences as requested.

Compensation Range: $107,000.00 - $161,000.00, plus bonus.
