Summary
In this senior management position, the Sr. Research and Development Manager, will lead major project developments and plant initiatives. This position involves management of, and active participation in, technical programs, product innovation efforts and team administration and development.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the R&D team to develop new products from scratch while working with the support of the R&D pilot team and R&D legal compliance. Follow through to the market launch
- Lead the entire project portfolio of the innovation Business Platform from Greek yogurt to new food forms
- Drive the innovation road map to the team to proactively look for new opportunities, while further developing projects that are briefed and underway, creating new ideas for innovation tools and projects
- Proactively improve existing platforms and technologies
- Approve all Industrial pilot and trial designs to achieve the best cost, quality, and time according to the target
- Complete defined project within the defined time and financial frame, while also delivering 100% expected quality and legal compliance
- Responsible for the creation of R&D product and raw materials specifications
- Identify innovative product and process solutions to meet consumer, customer, and business needs as a strategic driver for business growth
- Identify and document internal and external resource needs to support agreed upon development programs; effectively uses all available resources
- Provide a hands-on approach to develop team members and meet project objectives
- Communicate effectively, cross-functionally and across diverse levels within and outside the organization
- Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices
Requirements
- Master’s degree in food technology or food chemistry preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Broad food and/or beverage industry experience; having a minimum of 3 years with dairy alternatives
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Outstanding leadership skills; ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams to drive initiatives and concepts from initiation to completion
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Demonstrates understanding of product development requirements
- Extensive broad knowledge of and about dairy products and ingredients
- Passionate about product quality and consumer satisfaction
- Strong capability for problem solution management
- Demonstrates and has a passion for hands-on leadership; including a team of international Scientists
- Ability to make complex decisions and communicate with both technical and non-technical team members
- Strong understanding of and passion for the Food/CPG industry
- Record of consumer-focused innovation, ability to analyze and interpret consumer research data, technical understanding, and technical writing
- Strong sensory capabilities
- Domestic and international travel

Compensation Range: $122,000.00 - $183,000.00, plus bonus.
