Summary

The Wastewater Technician is responsible for monitoring the waste treatment processes by performing lab analysis, interpreting data, performing inspections and making adjustments as necessary. They will be required to work indoors and outdoors, and may be exposed to noisy machinery, unpleasant odors, and potential hazards such as slippery walkways and dangerous gases. They are also required to climb, reach, and stoop. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, record and interpret meter readings.  
  • Ability to understand verbal and/or written instructions.  
  • Perform required lab analysis, interpret and record accurately.  
  • Ability to collect samples.  
  • Monitor and operate assigned water treatment systems, including activated sludge process (ASP), and make necessary adjustments. 
  • Ability to work shift work including weekends and holidays.  
  • Maintain logbooks. 
  • Inventory of all chemicals and record accurately.  
  • Perform necessary calculations accurately and demonstrate the ability to anticipate plant transients.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  
  • Follow Chobani safety procedures.  
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices. 
     

Requirements

  • Associates degree in chemistry, biology, or environmental science preferred- will consider High School Diploma with additional technical course work in a related or an equivalent combination education and experience.  
  • 3-5 years of experience in Process/Utilities operations. 
  • 1-2 years’ laboratory analysis preferred. 
  • Able to climb ladders 
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability. 
  • Computer skills (ie. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook). 
  • SCADA HMI Experience. 
  • Demonstrate good communications skills, decision-making abilities and interpersonal skills. 
  • Have and maintain an Idaho Wastewater Operator License level 2 or similar out of state license and able to obtain an Idaho license within 6 months. 
  • Able to operate a forklift.

Compensation Range: $29.50 - $42.00, plus bonus.
