Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Lead demonstrates professionalism, accuracy, and strong observational skills while supporting safe and efficient shipping and receiving operations. This role partners closely with management to help develop, improve, and train team members on standard procedures and policies.

The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal and communication skills, is comfortable navigating multiple computer systems, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

This position oversees daily inbound and outbound activity, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and routing of trucks and trailers to the correct destinations. The Shipping and Receiving Lead supports yard and warehouse operations, helps coordinate scale house activities, and reinforces safety, compliance, and service standards for carriers, drivers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings warehouse systems experience, sound judgment, and the ability to perform well in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

  • Support, coach, and train Shipping and Receiving Clerks on daily processes and expectations.
  • Complete shipping and receiving activities in systems such as Vector and SAP accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Create, review, and approve required department documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with implementing departmental solutions, process changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a strong, team-oriented work environment.
  • Follow, promote, and monitor compliance with Chobani safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain dock schedules using systems such as Vector, DAS and Open Dock.
  • Communicate with internal teams, drivers, and carriers to direct truck and trailer movement.
  • Verify and manage traffic entering and exiting the scale house, including visitors, box trucks, and parcel carriers.
  • Create generic bills of lading as needed.
  • Lead day-to-day scale house operations and help ensure continuity of workflow.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to scale house operations, including computers, printers, tablets, Vector, SAP, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess the Chobani Certified Trainer designation or demonstrate the ability and willingness to obtain it.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness, follow GMPs, wear proper PPE, and practice good housekeeping.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, depending on business needs.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with team members, Supervisors, and Managers.
  • Willingness to support work in other departments as needed.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work additional hours when required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions for up to 12 hours.

The salary range for this full-time position is $24.25 - $30.75, + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
